Okay, so first.

Welcome to the new site!

It’s pretty much the same as the old one, we’re still working on it, but it will hopefully look better soon.

We chose sousaku.blog for a couple reasons, well, the .blog was because most of the other top level domains for that name were taken.

You might notice I’m saying “we” and not “I”. the reason for that is that now I’m partnering with a friend (a RL friend at that, not just some random person). She is an Illustrator, well, a rookie one but I really like her drawings.

After many talks she agreed to help me with the site, not with translations to the dismay of many, but with illustrations. I also told her that this would be a good way to improve herself, and maybe earn a coin or two in the process.

Her name is Phany, well, not her name name, but you get it.

Getting back to the name, sousaku basically means creations, or creativity, and that’s what we both strive for.

I will keep doing translations, she will be posting her drawings here too, and every now and then, she also said she could take recommendations on what you guys want to see her draw.

For some of the short stories I translate, and also for the long stories, she will also do fan-illustrations of some parts.

Then, another news.

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of my site. It’s been one long year of struggling with real life, with work and all the aspects they entail, but thanks to your support I’m still here, translating. You have no idea how much you guys mean to me, your words and appreciation has been keeping me here.

Therefore, I decided to commit myself a bit more to the site, and to show a bit of that commitment I bought a domain (stupid yearly fees ¬¬).

Also, for this whole month, starting today, there will be at least one chapter a day. To celebrate the first anniversary of the start of the translations here.

For those who don’t know, the novel I started with was “In search of a scenary I’ve yet to see”. To be honest, I only picked that one up because I really loved the prologue, and started translating without reading the rest of it.

I got pretty harsh backlash on that one, mainly because I mispelled diary as dairy for the first 3 prologue chapters (Sue me, I dont have an editor and neither is engligh my native tongue). And also because after the prologue, which was pretty much a drama, the story takes on a totally different route and becomes a typical magic adventure tale. Yunu even goes to the magical academy and stuff after some volumes. But anyway, I kept reading that story and it was fun, I might revisit it in the future, but that was the story that I first translated and it’s been a year since that first day.

I’ve come a long way since then, not only in learning how to translate and such, but also in my life. I’ve gone from working in a low paying job as a secretary, to becoming my own boss and starting a small business. All because of your help and encouragement.

Obviously, the road wasn’t an easy one, and neither it is easy right now. I still struggle to pay the bills, the water bill has been overdue for around half a year now, and every time it comes, it scares me to see how much its been adding up. But I really feel blessed to have an opportunity to do what I like and earn even a bit for it.

Anyway, I wanted to thank you for sticking with me this past year, and for the new visitors, I welcome you with open arms and I hope I can live up to your expectations.
